Here's a photo of two of my most flowery African violets together. All I do is water them and they grow like weeds and flower like flowers. It's amazing!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the bird's eye view of the pinky one of the African violets - it's so gorgeous in person that it looks FAKE.

Here's me on St. Patrick's Day (I used one of my effects to make me look less weird). My amigos at BBI gave me the hat! Happy St. Patrick's Day to me.

Saturday, March 20, 2010 - I've already spent a good portion of this morning looking for Tom Skilling's detailed explanation of the meaning of EQUINOX. And I can't find it!!!!!!!!!

Equinox means equal nights. It does NOT mean equal days and equal nights. The equal nights part means that at one particular moment/second/nanosecond in time, the nights in the Southern hemisphere and the Northern hemisphere are EQUAL in length. That's what it means.

Back in the old days, I used to say that the vernal equinox meant that in the springtime, the days and nights were of equal length. They are close, but not equal. Equal means the same. Not approximate. That's what the = (equal sign) means. hahaaa Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Maybe I'm a little bit crabby because my right eye has been bothering me ALL week. Okay, all month. I'm slowly going crazy....back in hell again. It's a nightmare. Very uncomfortable. Very annoying. Very blurry. And to top it all off, I saw two of my ophthamologists last week. Apparently, no one heard me say, "my eye stings, I have dull pain and it's blurry." Yeah, but your pressures are good. GIVE ME A BREAK!

.....and to top it all off, my flowers are getting covered with 3 inches of snow.

Ain't life grand! ~djb

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - I'm getting ready to go into the eye doctor's office in a few minutes. I just read my website where I said that Julius Caesar wrote a play.... yeah, that would be William Shakespeare. Yesterday was NOT a good day for me in any way, shape or form! Now, because of the stupid time change crap, I get to drive into the sun. Oh boy! Can't wait for that. If I don't make it back, it's been real....weird. djb

END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME - I'm old school so I added the "S" at the end of saving, otherwise, it just doesn't sound right to my ears.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday, March 12, 2010 - By next week, this month will be HALF over. WOW! It just started. This is insane. Plus, the emerging crocuses makes me crazy because I know that I have a limited amount of time to clean out the old brush before it's too late -- and there's lots and lots of stuff out there.

My right eye has been bothering me all week. It feels kind of itchy and uncomfortable. Most likely, I overdid it last week. But I was having such a good time seeing everyone. It sucks. At least, I have an appointment with Dr. David on Tuesday so I can find out if everything is okay.

Maybe I don't need the eye drops any more? That was one of my random thoughts. Anything is possible, I guess. All righty. Don't forget to turn your clocks AHEAD... Good luck, djb

Here are the first purple crocuses in my front flower garden! Imagine my surprise when I saw them this afternoon!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the first picture I took of the 2010 yellow crocuses -- I almost croaked when I saw them. I guess that's why they call them crocuses....

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - Seriously, one week ago, everything was covered in a foot of snow. There were a few patches here and there where the snow had melted, but it was still very cold and wintry.

These little weasel flowers were plotting under that blankie of snow to emerge when it finally melted. What a HUGE surprise. Everything is coming up. OMG. We had a temp today of 65 degrees. That's unbelievable.

What this means to me is LOTS OF WORK. LOTS OF BACK-BREAKING WORK!!! OUCH!

The past few days, my right eye has been bothering me. I haven't taken care of it very well in the past week and it has rebelled accordingly. Now, I'm back on the Celluvisc every half hour and warm washcloths on my eye, etc. Boring and very annoying.

I thought this was over but it's NOT. I'm going to have to deal with this the rest of my life. Darn and double darn. Enough complaining because that's even more boring. SEE ya blurry later, djb

Here's a further back photo that I took yesterday. You can see how the snow is finally melting!

Saturday, March 6, 2010 - As soon as I published Andrew and Jarrett's blogger blog, I thought, "Oh, I forgot to mention......" Now, I can't remember what that was. Darn short term memory problems.

That flower arrangement right in front with the white daisies, the yellow roses and the blue flowers was the one that Terri got in Sycamore at Kar-Free where Rod works. You can see the roses that Krissy and Bryar left on top of the stars. That was so sweet of dem guys.

Now, I really have to go. I'm NOT kidding. Did I mention that I got my prescription sun glasses? My new bifocals should be in next week. We'll see how that works out......... djb

Andrew and Jarrett's grave on March 3, 2010. The nativity scene is frozen into the ground so it's right behind the big angel that the girls in Jarrett's class gave us.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - The day of the accident, seven years ago, it didn't start snowing until around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Of course, then it didn't stop snowing for hours and hours. That day is burned in my memory forever -- I still remember when it started snowing.

Speaking of the cemetery......the snow is so cold and frozen that I was able to walk on top without sinking into it, which is good because I hate getting snow inside my boots. The flowers are all close together because we're supposed to be getting some strong winds later today.

We're going to meet Tim and Terri and Ryan out at the cemetery at 2 o'clock so I'd better get myself put together. This day is going by very quickly. And I've got miles to walk before I sleep. see ya later, djb
