This is what the sky looked like as we were driving back from DeKalb on July 20.
Wednesday, July 31, 2013 - The sky was so weird that Saturday night when we had dinner at Rosita's with Bergy and Avis.  These clouds were high and brightly lit in the northeast sky but everywhere else was dark and foreboding.  It was so interesting.  The clouds didn't start to appear until we were almost finished with our dinner....and margaritas.  Buena suerte!  haha  hasta luego, djb

Here's a closeup crop of the Nolana paradoxa Chilean bell-flower
And here's the group of these awesome flowers that I've never seen before!!
Sunday, July 21, 2013 - Earlier this summer or was it spring? when I was planting seeds in my big garden out front, my buddy, Rachel, came over to see me.  I asked her if she wanted to plant some seeds.  Of course, she did.  So, she planted these.  I'm still not sure of the name.  I found a photo online of this very flower but the name was also associated with a PINK bell flower.  oh well.  I am struck by the uniqueness of this flower.  love it.  see ya, djb

Here are some pink hollyhocks that I transplanted from under the evergreen tree.
Monday, July 15, 2013 - Hollyhocks always remind me of Grandma Berg's hollyhocks on the farm.  These particular pink guys were growing beside the evergreen tree which got too big and overwhelmed them.  After I moved them to the big garden in front, they have since flourished.  They're so pretty.  see ya, djb
