This is why we have Leap Year - the earth orbits the sun an extra 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds every year.
---------------------------------------------
Wednesday, FEBRUARY 29, 2012 - HAPPY LEAP DAY!

For some reason, I LOVE this day and apparently, I have had an affinity for Leap Day since 1984 when I wrote a Leap Day Message. That totally cracks me up.

I will put the unedited message on my andrew-jarrett.com website. I'm not changing anything. I used to laugh and I used to be funny. It's nice to see evidence of it.

Have fun leaping today. hippity hop, djb

Here's the sun trying to come out after the snowstorm yesterday morning. It looks so cool.
---------------------------------------------
Saturday, February 25, 2012 - Earlier, I put the slideshow for the snowstorm on here but I removed it because I finally remembered that it works better on my andrew-jarrett.com website. I made it REALLY big. Mostly, for myself.

It was so gorgeous out there yesterday. I wish I had seen more of the snow coming down, instead I just witnessed the tail end of the storm.

And it wasn't much of a snowstorm. Although up in McHenry, Ron and Liz got 7.3 inches. They win the prize this time!! snow ya later, djb

Here's a picture of the front yard (at 6:27 a.m) with the results of our gift from the "Saskatchewan Screamer."
----------------------------------------------
Friday, February 24, 2012 - Last night, we didn't even have one flake of snow. Now, this morning, oh boy! We've got snow!

Apparently, the storm slowed down a bit on its way here. It's very heavy heart attack snow. Good for making snowmen.

Okay, I've got to get some more pictures. Thought you like to see what winter is supposed to look like in northern Illinois. haha ~djb

Here's the view out in the back yard at 6:29 a.m. It is SO pretty and not too cold!
----------------------------------------------
Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - I love when the pictures I take early in day turn out with that bluish tinge to them -- makes them look magical.

They're saying that our temp will get up to 42 degrees today and this will all be gone. It's such a nice surprise to see first thing in the morning. And I don't have to shovel it. bye, djb

BAND-AID (registered trademark) Sport Strip - EXTRA WIDE - 1" wide for extra coverage.
------------------------------------------
Thursday, February 9, 2012 - This is what I was talking about to Granny last night. We need wider band-aids.

In the winter, I always get these weird cuts on my right thumb. Previously, it was next to my cuticle. Now, I have a small cut on the fleshy part of my thumb.

It HURTS so much! When I put the medication on it last night, it stung for a long time. Then, I put the Band-Aid sport strip on top of it and it covers the whole thumb and doesn't fall off -- the Band-Aid, not my thumb!

Right now, I'm trying to type with it still on my thumb. Actually, it works pretty well. hmmm. Interesting. later, djb

Here's Jarrett with Uncle Bergy and Aunt Avis opening Christmas presents -- not sure what year it was.
----------------------------------------------
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 - I just tried to publish my andrew-jarrett website and it gave me an error message I'd NEVER seen before.

Then, I tried to go to the web hosting site that gives me the number to call at Yahoo when there's trouble. It said, "THEY were having technical difficulties."

Okay, so that explains it. I'll just let it go for now and go get myself some more coffee. Coffee is good for your brain. That's what I heard. see ya later, djb

Murphy's Soft Wipes - Safely cleans your wood. No waxy build-up. You can see the shiny counter which was cleaned a couple of days ago.
----------------------------------------
Saturday, February 4, 2012 - Last week, I saw this in the store and I've always loved Murphy's oil soap....the smell reminds me of Kingston Grade School for some reason??

Anyway, after I took down all the Christmas stuff, I had dust and residue all over the place. I thought this would help me clean the table tops, which it did but....

I used one of the wipes to clean off my kitchen counters which always look ugly, dull and just plain yukky. Maybe because they're 38 years old??

WOW! Was I ever in for a huge surprise. This cleaned it off and left a nice shine (but not too shiny) and it's not sticky. But it has lasted for quite a few days unlike other products I've used over the years on that counter.

I'm just absolutely thrilled with it. I think it might work well on a formica table top. Just the fact that it's lasted for more than one day puts this product in my top ten list.

okay, I'll see ya later, djb
