Monday, February 25, 2013 - Not only is today the Full Snow Moon, but it's also the first Robin of Spring day!!! oh boy!  Every year, I make a note on the calender when I see the first robin.  And I always try to take a picture.  But this really is the first one I saw.  I heard them a few weeks ago but I didn't see them.  This is SO exciting.  Spring is coming soon.  oh yeah, djb

Here are the buttons that I collected from my years of working at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2013 - Happy Birthday to Mammy and George Washington!  Included in this collection are the various contracts we were working on during the early 1980's.  The S&P 500 (I typed the contract) and my boss, Michael Asay, was in charge of putting it all together, was just one of many proposals we were working on at that time.  Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the S&P 500 futures contract that I worked on would become so famous.  That's funny!  But I do love HOGS are BEAUTIFUL...in honor of pork belly futures.  haha, djb

Here's Andrew's tree today.  I took this picture through the windshield because I wasn't getting out.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2013 - HAPPY BOOFDAY, ANDREW.  I'm so glad I put those little trees in at the cemetery years ago.  It gives me something living and growing to see when I go in there.  It's so beautiful.  Miss you always, Andrew.  Love you forever, Mom

Here's what the driveway looked like before it started snowing....this was taken on 2/4
This is a picture of the driveway at 3:05 p.m. this afternoon...a few minutes ago.
Thursday, February 7, 2013 - Our rain turned to snow at 2:40 p.m. this afternoon.  One minute it was raining and then I looked out and it had started snowing.  We're supposed to get 2 or 3 inches of snow.  Ron and Liz already have 3 inches in their driveway....I think that's what he said.  Plus, they're going to get a LOT more because they're close to Wisconsin.  haha  snow ya later, djb

Monday, February 04, 2013

At 7:45 a.m. CST this is a picture of the path I shoveled to go down and get the papers.
Monday, February 4, 2013 - When I walked back up the driveway, I measured the snow and it was 1 and 3/4 inches.  Not quite 2inches... Oh boy, more shoveling.  So much fun!  later, djb

Sunday, February 03, 2013

Here's the driveway at 8:16 a.m. CST this morning after I shoveled my way down to get the newspapers.
Sunday, February 3, 2013 - Our snow drought is finally over.  We're not supposed to get a lot more  today but we've now had snow for two days in a row.  oh boy, djb

Saturday, February 02, 2013

Here's the front yard view today with two inches of new snow.
Saturday, February 2, 2013 - HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!!  It appears that Woodstock Willie did NOT see his shadow this morning, so we're supposed to have an early spring.   Wait a minute!  It's funny that we haven't had snow all winter and we finally get two inches+ of snow today, on Groundhog Day -- and now it's going to be an early spring.  yeah right!  later, djb

Friday, February 01, 2013

This is the BIG snow we had on the ground yesterday morning (January 31).
Friday, February 1, 2013 - We were supposed to have 2-3 inches of snow on Wednesday but this was all we got by Thursday morning - just a dusting.  Although any amount of snow is a lot considering we've had very little this winter.  brrr ya later, djb
