Yesterday, this HUGE limb came crashing down next door around 12:30 p.m. It was very, very loud!

Thursday, April 16, 2010 - Yesterday (the temperature was around 79 degrees), I was in the kitchen eating cauliflower when I heard a very loud noise. WOW! What was that, I wondered?

After a while, I came outside to enjoy some of the warmth of the sun, in person, when I looked next door and saw this gigantic limb that had broken away from the ginormous weeping willow tree in our neighbor's yard. Gotta get the camera, stat!

It's hard to gauge the size from a mere photo but believe me, it is one big branch. I've been watching it for a few years. Thankfully, Holly wasn't out in the yard because a few days earlier she had been right in that very spot. Yikes!!

Now, I'll be watching my own trees for falling objects. Speaking of which -- No, I did not see the meteor the other night. THAT would have scared me more than the earthquake. At least, we don't have any volcanoes - yet. see ya later, djb
